Following the interests of your child isn’t just about what they want to do right now, but the skills they develop that will help them with whatever they do in the future.
Let’s say your child wants to be a YouTuber, do you let him do it? Yes! And here’s why.
Use that passion, and have them take courses on photography, videography, art. Have them read books on marketing and take classes on public speaking. This will have them build a skill set that will translate into other endeavors they will be interested in later in life.
Even if their interests change over time (and they will) your child will still have the skills they gained while pursuing that interest and will be able to apply those skills elsewhere. Always follow the interest of your child, and use that interest to embed the lessons you want them to learn.
