While the homeschool curriculum world is becoming more and more saturated, it can still be a bit tricky to find those that align with special needs. It’s always a matter of finding what works best for your family as a whole, as well as your student as an individual. This post aims to help you do that.
- Memoria Press “Simply Classical” (Ages 2-21) : Designed for children with Autism, ADHD, neurological, or intellectual disabilities. Includes: 1. Classical Christian Education. 2. Socratic questioning.
- Time 4 Learning Special Needs Program: Computer lead learning. Proceeds at the student’s pace, builds on existing reading, writing, and math skills. Allows placement and progress for each child at independent levels math and language arts, encourages children to be active through exploration and discovery, and balance is learning with fun. Time 4 Learning is a certified Autism Resources that has worked very well for students on the spectrum – including with Aspergers or with PDD-NOS. Time4Learning is also good for children with Dyslexia, or ADD/ ADHD.
- Gemiini online learning for people with special needs. Increase speech, language, reading, life, and social skills for those with and without exceptionalities. A focus on autism, down syndrome, and speech delays.
- Jump Reading Is a program designed to assist struggling readers, specifically those with dyslexia. They offer one on one tutoring.
- The Multisensory Center for Dyslexia and Learning(7*): Academic Language Therapy and one-on-one tutoring. “If you or your child struggles with reading words, writing, and/or spelling; or you are concerned that your child is struggling and not keeping up with peers, this is the help you have been seeking.”
- Stages Learning: The goal of the ARIS curriculum is to make sure teachers have 100% of the hands-on materials, detailed lesson plans, and program management tools they need to carry out a complete and structured learning plan for their elementary-age students with autism.
